Meet our Director
MONIQUE HOVING - TRAUMA THERAPIST (MFT/RCC)
With deep compassion & a strong integrative therapeutic approach I help people to reach their full potential,
I am a therapist who predominately works with adult trauma survivors/ Complex PTSD (sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, physical abuse, dissociation, incest, etc.) and dissociative disorders (OSDD, DID, ritual abuse, religious trauma). I also help clients work through issues of attachment dynamics (childhood family dynamics between parents & children and between siblings), anxiety, depression, chronic somatic symptoms, and relationship difficulties,
In recent years I have developed an innovative and integrative therapy approach called TRIP, which stands for Trauma-Attachment, Regulation & Integration Process. This approach effectively combines powerful eye-brain techniques (working one eye open at a time - which is essential to truly repairing the brain, body, mind's internal conflict as a result of trauma and attachment impact) with somatic strategies, emotion-focused practices, internal parts or aspects of ourselves based on the core foundation of attachment theory (see Gordon Neufeld's attachment theory).
Distressing life events cause our earlier life experiences and thus parts of us to stay stuck, and yet another part of us had to figure out how to continue doing life. This creates an internal conflict between the Wounded part(s) of us that lives still with the traumatic or distressing experience as if it just happened, and the survival or coping part of us that had to develop strategies to cut of from feeling overwhelmed and push through. This creates an internal conflict which sustains isolation, trauma symptoms and chronic conditions.
The TRIP approach helps to reunite these internal parts of us, reduce the internal conflict and reduce or resolve the impact of the trauma.
My genuine and compassionate approach with clients offers a safe and caring space in which distressing concerns are explored.
RelationshipWorx offers counselling services that are tailored to each client’s situation.
This approach allows for a caring space where distressing concerns can be explored and seeks to restore balance in your life.
